Pancho received his Masters of Fine Arts from San Francisco State University and his undergraduate degree with a double major in Studio Art and History from Santa Clara University. He also studied in at the Universidad Autónoma de Mexico, Mexico City.
Pancho is a sculptor who works primarily in clay. His work ranges from large, architectural-scale pieces to smaller, more intimate constructions. He has exhibited his work extensively in gallery and public spaces. His work as been featured in Ceramics Monthly and in two Lark Book publications, The Ceramic Design Book and Extruded Ceramics.
His work experience has taken him in and around the field of art. He has worked as a product manager and designer for the Alternative Product Division of Mission Clay Company. During his graduate studies at San Francisco State University, he was the graduate assistant for the Ceramics Department and a teaching assistant in various levels of ceramics courses. He spent a year in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps working for the Capital Area Community Food Bank where he coordinated a nutrition and life skills course. In addition, Pancho has worked at New Langton Arts in San Francisco, and at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and he has taught art courses for children. Currently he works at Santa Clara University, where he is a lecturer in the Art and Art History Department as well as a Faculty Director of the Unity Residential Learning Center and Project Manager for the Center for Multicultural Learning.
